Darcie Doan
Senior Specialist, Trade and Climate
Darcie Doan is a senior specialist in trade and climate with the Economic Law and Policy program.
Darcie has more than two decades of experience conducting policy research and advising governments on issues at the intersection of environmental and economic policy. She is an expert in international trade, sustainable agriculture, and climate.
Prior to joining IISD, Darcie held various positions in the Canadian federal government, where she oversaw efforts on cross-cutting priorities, including trade negotiations, international regulatory cooperation, and environmental policy. Previous roles include Director of Technical Trade Policy at Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, First Secretary and Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada to South Korea, and Senior International Consultant with the Agricultural Transformation Agency of Ethiopia.
Darcie holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from McGill University and a Master of Arts from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.
Darcie is based in Ottawa and speaks English and French.
